There are situations when you want to convert a Word document (or other common document formats) to PDF without installing software on the local machine. You can do this very easily with the excelent free tool from pdfonline.com
To give a quick try to this service, pick a document from your local drive and enter an email address where you want to receive the converted PDF:

That's pretty neat and quick, but is it really safe and reliable? I mean if we upload the file to pdfonline, how sure can we be that it will not be saved/archived/misused by pdfonline?
I've been using Google Docs to convert .doc files to PDF (with help from Techtaxi). It's neat and 110% safe.
